Saudi Arabia Joins ITU Digital Regulation Network Board: A Testament to Its Global Leadership and International Confidence

تم النشر في الجمعة 2025-05-02The International Telecommunication Union (ITU) has selected Saudi Arabia as a member of its Digital Regulation Network Board, represented by Eng. Omar Alrejraje, Deputy Governor for Regulation and Competition at Communications, Space and Technology Commission (CST). This appointment is a new confirmation of the Kingdom’s international leadership position and the global confidence in its regulatory capabilities and ability to lead worldwide digital regulatory initiatives. This selection follows Saudi Arabia’s accomplishment of ranking second among G20 countries and fourth globally in digital regulatory readiness, as well as achieving a leadership level in digital regulatory maturity (G5) issued by the ITU.
The network includes 13 entities representing regulatory bodies from various regions around the world to discuss key challenges and opportunities, share experiences, provide recommendations and strategic directions, and launch programs and initiatives that contribute to accelerating digital transformation, enhancing international cooperation in the digital economy, and enabling a motivating environment for innovation and investment.
It is noted that Saudi Arabia has been a member of the ITU Council for nearly six decades as an active contributor to ITU initiatives, objectives, working groups, and committees. The Kingdom seeks to strengthen regional and international collaboration and solidarity in the communications sector.
