Nestlé is continuing its efforts to locate a KitKat chocolate truck that was targeted in a heist in Europe. The truck was carrying over 12 tons of limited-edition chocolate bars shaped like Formula 1 cars.
The company explained that the shipment, which included approximately 413,793 pieces, was stolen after individuals posing as police officers intercepted the truck on a highway outside Turin while it was en route to Poland.
Nestlé confirmed that the search for the truck and the stolen goods is ongoing, in coordination with the relevant authorities, with investigations focusing on the potential involvement of organized crime networks specializing in high-value cargo theft.
As part of its tracking efforts, the company has launched a digital tool that allows consumers to check whether any items they possess are part of the stolen batch by entering an eight-digit code found on the back of the packaging. Any suspicious reports are directed to the company to be followed up with the authorities.
Nestlé emphasized that the incident is real and not a promotional stunt, confirming its ongoing efforts to recover the shipment.
