Saudia and Vietnam Airlines Announce Codeshare Partnership

Saudia, the national flag carrier of Saudi Arabia, signed a codeshare agreement with Vietnam Airlines to enhance connectivity betweenthe Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This collaboration aims to offer guests expanded travel options between Southeast Asia and the Middle East and a more seamless journey.

The codeshare agreement facilitates travel on flights connecting Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City with Jeddah and Riyadh. Guests can now book itineraries through either airline, including segments operated by the other, offering greater flexibility and a streamlined booking experience across both networks.

Mr. Arved von zur Muehlen, Chief Commercial Officer at Saudia, stated: “We are looking forward to deepening our relationship with Vietnam Airlines. This codeshare agreement underscores Saudia’s commitment to offer more destinations to guests to explore and enhance connectivity, securing a seamless travel experience, being both members of SkyTeam. By collaborating with the esteemed national carriers, we continue to expand our global network, aligning with our strategic objectives to foster economic growth and cultural exchange.”

Mr. Nguyen Quang Trung, Director of Corporate Planning & Development at Vietnam Airlines, said: “We are delighted to partner with Saudia to strengthen our global network and offer our customers more choices for travel to the Middle East. This collaboration underscores our commitment to providing exceptional service and seamless international connections.”

He added: “As members of the SkyTeam alliance, this partnership allows us to offer our passengers the benefits of a broader global network and enhanced frequent flyer program options, along with an opportunity to experience the rich culture, heritage, and unique cuisine of Vietnam.”

This partnership contributes to Saudia’s objectives by continuing its efforts to connect the world to the Kingdom, coupled with initiatives to enhance the travel experience through both ground and air services and products. It also aligns with the National Transport and Logistics Strategy by increasing air connectivity to more than 250 destinations by 2030 and supports the Saudi Ministry of Tourism’s target of reaching 150 million visits by 2030.
